Hey, there! I'm Lara.
I'd like to welcome you to my page! Have a look around and give me a shout if you have any questions!
Backstory
I picked up photography as a hobby when I was 13. I started HNH as a side gig when I was 17 thinking it would be fun if I ever got bored. Well, let me tell you! It has become my passion and my dream career over the course of the last several years. I have taken on weddings, horse shows, seniors, family sessions, and so much more.
If its not obvious already, I adore photography in all of its forms. My favorite genres are equine portraiture and documenting the rural lifestyle. These stem from a lifelong obsession with everything horse and/or agriculture related. I grew up on a small farm in Hickman County, TN. My parents' niche seemed to be raising quarter horses and wild children. I was never still for long, not when there were horses to ride, trails to explore, and just enough light to see by (let's be honest, sometimes not even then). We helped the neighbors work cattle and had so many winter calves in our laundry room that I have honestly lost count of them all. Charolais, Angus, commercial, you name it, it probably slept in front of our dryer at one point or another (you've probably guessed already, but yes, I piled up with those babies on more than one occasion). I have somehow managed to grow up since then, but I keep that little girl in my heart and go back to her always.

Why I Do What I Do
That crazy farm girl is why I strive to capture this lifestyle for others. I would have loved to have had more of my most treasured moments preserved in photos. I could tell you all about my childhood best friend, Wilbur the pig (yes, he was real), or go on about how beautiful my grandmother was, but its just not the same without a picture to go with the story. Seeing them in print makes me feel as if I could reach out and touch them again. I want you to have that opportunity. Remembering the shenanigans you or your family got up to is one thing; holding a print or smiling up at a canvas on your wall only adds to how special those memories are.
If you're considering booking a session with me, shoot me a message here or through any of my social media platforms. I cannot wait to get started!
